Since the formal return of the Wilmington icon during a Thanksgiving weekend celebration, I’ve visited several times at its new location at South Island Park just off Route 53.
The thousands of others who recreate--camp, hike, bird, view wildlife, boat, fish, hunt, chill--annually around Wilmington at the old strip pits, Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie and the Kankakee and Des Plaines rivers already feel like a piece of the past came back.

De Gemini Giant is niet terug, maar verplaatst naar een andere locatie binnen de gemeenschap van Will County. Het staat zo op het historische Route 66 - net als het decennialang heeft gedaan. De Gemini Giant zal binnenkort weer opgericht worden buiten South Island Park.

The iconic "Gemini Giant" along old Route 66 has been saved and will remain in Wilmington, Illinois. On Wednesday, the Joliet Area Historical Museum placed the winning bid on the Giant and immediately donated the statue to the City of Wilmington. Now, the Giant will be removed from its current location and transported to a temporary storage. In the near future, it will be placed near the entrance of South Island Park, which is located along Route 66.

Ja, de Gemini Giant is terug. We're just happy he's back where he belongs. He's along Route 66 in Wilmington en de ondersteuningsstructuur die je de hele dag kunt zien, is aanwezig.
